Thought folks might want a place to add their thoughts on the debate tonight from the Kodak Theater.
Both did well. I thought they were exceedingly (perhaps too) civil towards each other. They definitely seemed to be focused on the concerns of California voters – talking about the environment, global warming and immigration issues much more than before.
I do think both pandered a bit to Edwards supporters and Latino voters.
There seemed to be too many cutaways to the celebrities in the room. I didn’t tune in to see Pierce Brosnan, Diane Keaton or Jason Alexander trying to look thoughtful. Antonio Villaraigosa and Gavin Newsom had great seats, but I hear Congresswoman Jane Harman was stuck back in the cheap seats. Only in L.A.
I’m happy to vote fore either one in the fall.
Your thoughts?
Two opponents who respect each other; not the venow of the GOP debate the night before. I love how Obama didn’t mind being called a tax and spend liberal since the Republicans don’t have much of a fiscal record to run on. I like how Hillary talked about her ideas. I loved how the crowd reacted that we’d be a united party come November and how they really love a Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton ticket.
Didn’t watch it. – Voting for Edwards.
Was very happy to see them both discuss the issues rather than snipe at one another. We need to be united in November to avoid GWB part three. And scooterpi, being indignant is not going to get you anywhere. Grow up and move on. Country before party and party before candidate.
The debate was great
I would vote for Edwards if he hadn’t bowed out. I don’t see much point in voting for him on the 5th, especially since I want to vote against Hillary in a way so that my vote matters.
