Hillary’s Official ‘Sniffiling’ Tour

Hillary Schedules Official Crying Jag for South Carolina Launches ‘Sniffling Tour’ Before SuperDuper Tuesday.

Saying that she has learned valuable lessons from her victory in the New Hampshire primary, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) today announced that she was scheduling an official crying jag for the eve of the South Carolina primary on January 26.

Speaking to reporters in Las Vegas this morning, her eyes noticeably watery, Mrs. Clinton said that her election eve crying jag would be scheduled for 4 PM EST on January 25.

“I’m going to be crying so much you’re going to think I’m Anderson Cooper,” she wept.

Thank you Andy Borowitz for brightening my day. Read the rest HERE.

  1. Ha! And another lesson was that she’d better stop running her governing strategy–which will be triangulation if elected–stop running it as a campaign strategy as if she can take for granted that she’s the nominee. Instead, now the strategy is a more typical run-to-the-left primary effort. Suddenly she’s all about change and not so much about experience, suddenly she’s for a near immediate end to the War (if you believe that I’ll sell you a bridge too). The “cry” was important (and btw I think it was genuine) but the lesson of New Hampshire (be softer) would have meant nothing to her without the lesson of Iowa (better run to the left quick and crowd the “change” message). -james

  2. I really resent this kind of thing, as a woman. Everyone gets to cry except the girl. It was totally real to me, she was exhausted and she was being ‘piled on’ and doing her best to stay cheery and upbeat and to look ‘tough’ so as to not be trashed for being a wussy girl and one kind questions brought out the emtiona and she was trying hard not to cry. Been there, done that, it’s so anti-feminime to diss her for that too. Shame on you.

Agreed. I never hear all these pundits pile on John Edwards or Barack Obama for displaying emotion. No, they’re praised for showing their “human side”. But when Hillary reveals her “human side”, she gets condemned by these pundits for playing some “crying game”. Oh yes, and these are the same pundits who had been bashing Hillary all last year for being too “unemotional” and “cold” and “calculating”.

Really, these pundits are hypocrites. They go ga-ga-goo-goo over Mitt Romney and John Boehner shedding crocodile tears as they cry for more war, but they bash Hillary when she shows how much she really cares about our country. The double-standard is so obvious, and it’s so disgusting.

There’s satire, and there’s trashy attempt at “humor”. I think this qualifies as the latter. After all, would you be laughing if I were to deride John Edwards as “The Breck Girl”? Or would you and Bill be laughing if I were to make jokes about Barack Obama’s name?

I don’t mind humor… But can we please try to keep it classy here?

  5. So which is she? Cold, inhuman and too manly, or girly crybaby? Because like most women in positions of power, she gets slammed to the mat for either.

    Not funny.
