Great seeing everyone at Drinking Liberally last night. It was a wonderful send off for Mike Lawson who will be missed.
We had a great time discussing our debates with our friends on the right. I have the final say in two different posts here, both of which end with a question and some folks asked if I got a response. The answer is no, so I’ll post the questions again.
There was a question for Rep. Chuck DeVore on whether or not he’s planning to accept the $3K salary increase for state legislators or if he plans to give the money to charity as State Senator Lou Correa has done. Care to answer Chuck? What about the rest of the OC Delegration, Republicans and Democrats alike?ÂÂ
The second question was one of disclosure. Say what you will about Matt Cunningham, but the guy does disclose when he is blogging or commenting on an issue he is also involved with as a consultant. Very ethical of you Matt. I posted a question to him about a post on Red County from Jon Flieschman in regards to a Scott Baugh/CRC Health Services/PO’d Republicans in NPB. A commenter suggested that Jon Fleischman was a “paid mouthpiece” for CRC as well, something not disclosed in the original post. I asked Matt, online, if it was true and, with no answer, the post moved along. But still, as Red County is Matt’s blog, there’s a measure of accountability in disclosure of a fact.ÂÂ
So the answer is yes Jon is a paid mouthpeace; no he’s not; or, I don’t know (but plan to ask him).

Chuck already said he’d accept it. It was in the Daily Pilot last week.
As for Jon Fleischman: I don’t know. I don’t ask our bloggers every time they post if they have a financial stake in the outcome of what they’re blogging about. Everyone’s expected to disclose, so I assume they do.
Dan, you said today you “detest” anonymous commenters, yet you want me to interrogate one of our bloggers on the basis of a claim by an anonymous commenter?
I seldom read the Pilot, as I reside in Irvine.
Thanks for setting policy on the disclosure issue for your blog.
I said I detest anonymous bloggers, not commentators. I love when the anon. commentators on your site call me a communist.
And I never suggested you interrogate anyone. I suggested you ask him. Two different forms of questioning.

I included it in the News Roundup, as well.
And I will ask him.
you assume I read every little link you post…I don’t
