A Lazy Sunday at Flash

Another day and another day without commentary from Jon Flieschman on the indictment on federal corruption charges against OC Sheriff Mike Carona.  The commentary today is simply, ‘no commentary today.”

A poster asked Jon for his take on Carona only to be bitch-slapped by one of Jon’s capos and threatened with having his commenting ability revoked; so much for free speech and an honest debate on the issues from the Flash Report and the far right.

Jon did list newspaper stories about investigations against Senate president Perata and Speaker Fabian Nunez, but the Carona stuff is buried down below with links to columns by Steve Greenhut and Gordon Dillow, plus a fluff piece from Mike Schroeder on why the charges won’t stick.

Every media outlet in the area is carrying this story and most voices are calling for Carona to resign.  Ignoring this story won’t make it go away.

One can only wonder if Carona does get convicted, how many others will he drag down with him?

  1. dan,
I was speaking with a friend of mine at the OC Register about how deep and wide this whole conspiracy thing goes with Carona. If even half of the chrges are true about the Sherrif, one has to wonder how the heck it was contained to just Carona, Haidil, Jaramino, and the Sherrifs wife and mistress.

My prediction is there is going to be a ratting out fest here in OC. Expect to see peple getthe finger on connections with Carona, and then another series of ratting out on unrelated stuff in order to stay out of Federal Pound me in the Ass Prison.

A dominoe effect like seen nowhere else.

Wow, good call there. You’ve got all the predictive abilities of a Gordon Dillow

You don’t think that people have already started ratting each other out? That people have been ratting each other out for months? That some people are currently operating as if all is cool without realizing that they are in fact in the process of being ratted out as we speak?

    Sleep tight now.

  3. Wonder on which side of the ratfest Jon falls …. the silence could indicate he’s a witness in all of this … or another target.

In any case, his complete silence, and even refusal to toss in a good word for his former boss, is amazing.

Of course, he might just worry the Carona correction will stain his career and hirability as well …
