It came to light Tuesday after the sisters were spotted by reporters heading into the House Ethics office with prominent Washington lawyer Stanley Brand.
Aides quickly squashed speculation that a new congressional scandal could be afoot. Instead the sisters were consulting about how to proceed with their publishing project without running afoul of any ethics rules, which limit outside income.
Details on the book were scarce because the contract has not yet been finalized, according to Loretta Sanchez’s spokeswoman, Paula Negrete.
However aides said it would be a nonfiction take on the pair’s experiences getting to and serving in the House.
Loretta Sanchez is in her sixth term representing portions of Orange County including Anaheim and Santa Ana, while younger sister Linda Sanchez is in her third term representing communities south of Los Angeles including Long Beach, Whittier and South Gate.
Speaking of the sisters, I’m pretty certain that Loretta & Linda’s annual Halloween get-together is this evening. Any ideas on what costumes the Congresswomen will be donning tonight?
Apparently a draft of the book is nearly complete.
Loretta was an angel in white with wings. Linda was batman (batwoman?).
