Jeff Kramer Running for OC County Executive (that’s Onondaga County)

When I last saw Jeff Kramer, he was in front of me at Dodger Stadium for the inaugural series between the Dodgers and the Red Sox (first time since 1917 when the Dodgers were in Brooklyn).  But former OC Register humor columnist Jeff Kramer moved away, to Upstate New York, where he now writes for the Syracuse Post Standard. 

In his usual fashion has launched a write-in campaign (with tongue firmly planted in cheek) for county executive in the OC — that’s Onondaga County in Central New York (Greater Syracuse).  Here’s his announcement. The joke is “Onondaga is Indian for “Beat Penn State.”  For you UCLA and USC fans bemoaning your team’s success or failure this fall, Syracuse University is 1-6 this year and 6-24 since 2004. 

What a change for Jeff; winter is the best 7 months of the year in Upstate NY.  But his wife Leigh (a saint) is from Greater Syracuse and ..well..the things we do for love.

Jeff’s had a busy year; he’s written a play about his own failed attempt at getting a vasectomy called “Lowdown Lies.”  It’d be great to get this play produced somewhere in the OC and have the Big Buy come back.
