Jim Lacy has a short post at Flash Report on the guest list for Western C-PAC (Conservative Political Action Committee) meeting taking place next week in Newport Beach.
Jim says:
Presidential candidate Congressman Duncan Hunter has confirmed he will be a speaker at the upcoming Western Conservative Political Action Conference in Newport Beach on October 12-13. Other confirmed speakers include Mike Reagan, who is the General Chairman of the Conference, along with U.S. Senator Sam Brownback; State Senator Tom McClintock, Assemblyman Chuck DeVore; Board of Equalization member Michelle Steel; San Bernardino County Assessor Bill Postmus; radio-talk show hosts Melanie Morgan (KSFO San Francisco) and Mark Larson (1700 AM, San Diego); and Hoover Institute Fellow and Reagan biography author Dinesh D’Souza
Hmmm. No Malkin. No Coulter. No Hannity. No Rush. Damn, I am disappointed. But I think Senator Brownback (R-I don’t believe in Evolution) and Rep. Hunter (R-Build that Fence High and Long) are probably polling at 3 percent between the two of them.ÂÂ
Michael Reagan, the late President’s adopted son and conservative talk show host, is chairing the event. I’ve heard his show before and he’s pretty mean-spirited making the comment that Michael Huffington “decided to turn gay” rather than be married to Ariana Huffington. Mike must not realize that Mr. Huffington has likely always been Gay as its nothing someone can decide to be.ÂÂ
But Michael Reagan is invoved in my all time favorite Ronald Reagan story: “My name is Ronald Reagan. What’s yours?” –introducing himself after delivering a prep school commencement address. The individual responded, “I’m your son, Mike,” to which Reagan replied, “Oh, I didn’t recognize you.” Nice family values from that family.
I note that Melanie Morgan, a conservative talk show host from San Francisco, is coming. Ms. Morgan is responsible for coining the phrase “Halfrican” to describe Barack Obama since he is not a descendent of African slaves. Obama’s father is from Africa. Morgan is one of the bigger space-shot conservative hosts out there and can almost make Rush Limbaugh seem like a fair and balanced individual. Morgan makes Hugh Hewitt like well reasoned individual.
Expect Chuck DeVore to take an even sharper turn to the right. I’m told they will have a panel on blogging; no invitation for us lefties. ÂÂ
