Hey, are you coming to Drinking Liberally tonight? Thinking about coming out to have fun with your local progressive friends? Well, you’d better, because we have some very special guests at BOTH locations!
So who’s coming tonight? Well, now that Ron Shepston has made his BIG announcement about his campaign for Congress in the 42nd District, he’ll be at BOTH Rancho Santa Margarita AND Santa Ana tonight to talk with us about why he’s running, and what we can do to help him. And guess what? I’ll be joining Ron at both venues to celebrate his big debut with him, while several of our other fantastic Liberal OC bloggers will be on hand in Santa Ana to get the party started.
Actually, Chris will also be at Santa Ana at 7:00 for Eleanor Roosevelt Democratic Club. If you care about advancing equal rights for all in Orange County, go to Santa Ana early. Meanwhile, my friend John from It’s OUR Healthcare
will also be on hand in Santa Ana to talk about what we can do to make sure Sacramento does something this year to ensure that all Californians have access to the health care they need. Oh yes, and my friend Lucas from Calitics will be at RSM tonight at 7:00 PM to see how we OC liberals rock the house. I can hardly wait to say hello to all of them tonight (and show them all my new Orange County for Obama t-shirt!!)!
So who could we possibly be missing tonight? YOU… That is, if you don’t come. So why miss Drinking Liberally? You have plenty of new friends to make, causes to join, candidates to meet, and yummy mojitos (if you’re up north) and fine wine (if you’re down south) to consume. 😉
Thanks for getting the DL word out!
No problem, Gary! Oh yes, and the San Diego people are now here! They’re mad that Canyon Grille is a nice restaurant in a nice shopping center. They say it isn’t dingy enough for DL. 😉
I have a question regarding the OUR Healthcare iniative: If they are focused on ensuring that all Californians have access to the healthcare they need, are they focusing on anyone who lives in California, or only those Californians who pay taxes out of their paycheck and annually?
Well, they’re focusing on EVERYONE, including the children of taxpaying Californians AND retired parents of taxpaying Californians. We all already pay so much in premiums to the insurance companies. But what care do we get? Let’s make sure that our premium money is put to work in giving us good access to good health care, and let’s make sure that those working people who can’t afford health care right now WILL BE ABLE to get health care once the final legislation is ready to be passed this year. 🙂
Not impressed!
I may not have been clear. I wasn’t impressed with the candidate. Hope the handlers can give him some pointers.

Remember that this candidate has NEVER run for office before. He’s new to this kinda thing, which I personally find refreshing. After all, why shouldn’t we have more citizen legislators who understand our concerns because they’re regular folks like us?
But still, you’re right that Ron needs some pointers on politicking. Don’t worry, he has some FANTASTIC advisers (and one amazing campaign manager!!) who are helping him on this. Just give Ron a little time to learn, and I bet you’ll eventually be just as impressed by him as all the rest of us are. 🙂

LOL! We could move it to the Swallows Inn in SJC…
ROTFLMAO! We could also move it to the Boom Boom Room in Laguna, so long as it’s still open and my 21st birthday speeds on by soon. 😉
