HRC Lives!

HT to our friend Matt over at OC Blog; but the Board of Supes voted to keep the HRC alive.

Matt CunninghamSee Matt’s “cry in your beer” post here.

$300K to help fund a successful government run agency is a small price to pay considering the millions the Republicans didn’t mind spending for the recall election and special election that got them a Governor very much like the one that got rid of and no support from the people of California on ballot issues of interest to the GOP.

Of course, this will be considered a straw man or red herring by some.  But the bottom line is when millions were needlessly spent on issues backed by Republicans, money is no object; when its a literally drop in the bucket for something favored by progressives, oh the pain and agony.

And for what it’s worth, the individual taxpayer contribution for this is well under a buck.

  1. An interesting argument: it’s OK to waste a comparatively small amount of money on one government program because you think large amounts of money are wasted on other government undertakings.

  2. I don’t think money spent on HRC is wasted. I do think money spent on the recall and special elections was.
