New Garden Grove City Councilmember appointed

Tonight the Garden Grove City Council voted to appoint Planning Commissioner Steve Jones to the Garden Grove City Council to fill the seat that was vacated when Janet Nguyen was elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

Jones owns Olympia Holdings Corporation, a Garden Grove-based real estate and investment company.

On March 29th, when Jones’ name was originally submitted and voted on by the council, Councilmember Mark Rosen and Mayor Bill Dalton both voted against his appointment. Tonight, Rosen changed his vote.

  1. What a disappointment! The city council appointed a pro-development puppet to serve on our city council. He has served on the planning commission for eight years and has never run for public office. His dedication to the development community is well documented in his yes votes for projects.
    Thoughtfully, Robin Marcario
