March is Women’s History Month

I have been contemplating the likes of Mary Lease “Raise less corn and more hell” and Mother Jones. I bet we can come up with quite a list of trailblazing, inspiring women throughout ‘her’story, so my question to you is:

Do you know an inspiring woman in Orange County? If you do, the Orange County Community Forum is accepting nominations for Women Who Make a Difference in Orange County.

Nominations are open until Monday, March 5 (limit 2 nominations per person). Your nominee will be honored at the Orange County Community Forum’s 5th Annual Women Who Make a Difference in Orange County Celebration on Tuesday, March 27, 2007. (more on that to follow another time).

Limit your superfluous praise to one or two paragraphs and send it off to alibwdem@yahoo.com

  1. Let me start the bidding by recommending Rep. Loretta Sanchez, Irvine Mayor Beth Krom – both of whom put up with loads of elephant crap thrown by the right wing moonbats out there. I’d also stronghly recommend IUSD Legislative Action Committee cair Wendy Bokota who got into the Gov’s face over education funding in the 2005 special election with her kids seated at the same table. I worked with Wendy for two years on legislative action issues and there are few people as committed to strong public schools as she is.
