United States Senators Edwards, Obama, and Clinton have announced their campaigns for President in 2008 over the past few weeks. They have joined Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack and Congressman Dennis Kucinich in the quest for the Democratic Party nomination. Senator Joe Biden has indicated that he will also soon join the race.
In addition, the Los Angeles Times reported today that the California Legislature, supported by Governor Schwarzenegger, is in the process of setting the Presidential Primary in California to occur on February 5, 2008. If this occurs, California will play a much more important role in the selection of the nominees from both the Republican and Democratic parties.
