Just got an email from Orange County Democratic Party Chairman Frank Barbaro:
We’re thankful for our wonderful Congresswoman, Loretta Sanchez, who will assume a new position of responsibility in Washington.
We’re thankful for our newly elected State Senator,Lou Correa, who will be a champion for working families in central Orange County.
We’re thankful for our new Assemblyman, Jose Solorio, who will fight for our shared values.
We’re thankful that Democratic registration efforts accomplished a net gain of nearly 15,000 new voters since the beginning of 2006.
We’re thankful for the tremendous service of Senator Joe Dunn and Assemblyman Tom Umberg, who have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of their constituents.
We’re thankful for California’s own Nancy Pelosi, our new Speaker of the House.
We’re thankful that those who have tried to intimidate Orange County voters have failed to do so.
We’re thankful for so many of our wonderful local elected Democratic officials, from incumbents like Beth Krom to newcomers like Pam Keller.
We’re thankful for the County’s changing demographics, which will give us a huge opportunity to make Democratic gains if we take full advantage.
We’re thankful to the many activists who fight for progressive candidates and causes, often with no recognition or compensation.
We’re thankful to all of our wonderful candidates who worked their hearts out to show that this isn’t such a Red County after all.
I hope Lou Correa will REALLY be the voice of the working family and return one of the many emails or phone calls he’s been sent regarding Markland Industries, the metal plating factory directly across the street from a school in Santa Ana that is on trial for allegedly illegally dumping hazardous chemicals.
The same Santa Ana where until recently Jose Solorio was a Councilmember on the council that approved said metal plating factory that was caught illegally dumping hazardous chemicals at least twice.
I am dying to see a press release from either of them condemning Markland for illegally dumping chemicals and possibly endangering, harming or killing children and working families that they love so much.
I’d be thankful if either of them would return a call or email and fight or champion for the little guy who is unable to be thankful because of the illness and doctors bills and sick parents because of the lack of regard for our community by alleged toxic polluters like Markland industries.
What about John Hanna’s victory? Aren’t you thankful for that?
