I remember my right wing friends rubbing my nose in it in 2000, 2002, and 2004. Since I’m out of town, I haven’t had the chance to properly gloat. But I will.
My neighbor Don has already informed me everything wrong with the country is now the Democrats’ fault. There’s a big mess to clean up and it can’t be done overnight.
If you really want to laugh until the beverage you’re sipping comes out your nose, go over to the Register’s Orange Punch blog and read the entries from John Seiler and Steve Greenhut. How hard it must be for them, who were so certain they are right, to be found wrong. Is it a case of voters not being smart or are they simply out of touch with the rest of California and the rest of America?
If that isn’t good enough for you, scroll over to Jon Fleischman’s Flash Report and read his attempts to explain GOP losses in the House and Senate. What made me fall out of my chair was his call for “Principaled Conservative Leadership.” Here’s a news Flash for you Jon; the country prefers to spend its time in the middle. While this site is a left-leaning site, attempts to portray anyone who isn’t a conservative as a liberal is one of the reasons your side lost Tuesday. When centrist Republicans are targeted by their own party as not being conservative enough, it was good to see the Democrats take back the center. Jon cites the governor’s re-election as good news for the GOP. All I can say is its nice to have a Democrat back in the state house. But whatever works for you Jon.
I have been wearing this blue wristband since Kerry lost in 2004; it is a sign of support for the Democrats when our spirits were the lowest I can remember. It has a single word: “Hope.” Right now, I am hoping Jim Webb wins Virginia because if a Democrat can win there, we can win anywhere. Even here in the Liberal OC.
Poor Jon. Denial isn’t a river in Egypt. The nation was “Principled Conservative Leadership” and sent them packing.
anyone know where I can get a black wristband?
Black wristband? I’m too dumb to get that joke. Explain.
In the final paragraph of his post, Dan C. made reference to wearing a blue wristband after Kerry lost in ’04. I think the Comandante is in mourning for the Republican loss of the house. That’s just my best guess.
And Mike, please try not to sell yourself short! You’re a very smart fellow (and I’m not easily impressed).
