Republican Control = No Action

Earlier this year it was revealed that the Republican Party of Orange County had funded a voter registration campaign where bounty hunters were paid by the number of Republican registrations they gathered. The result of this program was that hundreds of individuals had their party registration switched without their knowledge or authorization.

When these crimes were exposed the Republican Party of Orange County continued to fund the program for several weeks, then fired the company that hired the bounty hunters and then continued the program of registration switching directly out of their headquarters. Today the program is being directly funded by the Republican Senate Leader Dick Ackerman and reports are still coming in claiming unauthorized switching of voter registration.

More than 500 verified complaints of voter registration fraud have been filed with the Orange County Registrar of Voters seeking prosecution of these crimes. The Secretary of State, the District Attorney of Orange County and the Registrar of Voters all promised a swift investigation and prosecution of the offending individuals. Months have passed and while we know that the offenders have been identified, no charges have been filed against anyone. I have to conclude that there is only one reason for the delay. These officials, who are all Republicans, are dragging their feet to delay any negative impact on Republican candidates until after the election. In true Republican style, they are delaying action to cover for the Republican Party of Orange County.

When will justice be served? How long do we have to wait? If it was Republican voters being switched to Democrat all hell would have broken loose and these people would be in jail.
