From the Orange County Register:
The Orange County grand jury, under its government oversight function, has issued a report criticizing the Board of Supervisors for not doing enough about the county’s homeless problem. The problem “does not appear to be a priority with the Board of Supervisors as is shown by the fact that only $143,000 has been allocated from the [fiscal year]2005-2006 general fund for the homeless, and that is solely for management salaries.”
There’s a pretty serious problem if there are 35,000 people living on Orange County streets…and 16,000 of them are children!
