We have written since the start of her campaign that Cecilia Iglesias is nothing more than a Republican plant, funded clandestinely by supporters of Republican nominee Assemblyman Van Tran. We have pointed out the fact that Iglesias has posted pictures of herself with a variety of high profile Republicans on her website.

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47) today called for an extension of the increased Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) – the share of Medicaid expenditures paid by the federal government. Currently, the federal government pays about 62 cents for every dollar of Medi-Cal services used. This rate will expire at the end of this year, on December 31 unless Congress approves an extension.
Cecilia Iglesias worked in a federally funded position with the Social Services Agency, in violation of the Hatch Act, for 8½ months before she resigned. Her resignation from SSA was likely not voluntary since the only option for SSA was to either dismiss her or forfeit a portion of its federal assistance.
“Physical stalking, cyberstalking, and other acts of intimidation are serious crimes that deserve serious consequences,†said Rep. Sanchez. “Unfortunately, existing federal law doesn’t do enough to protect victims and empower prosecutors. My bill would do both by strengthening existing laws to ensure all forms of harassment are taken seriously in the eyes of the law.â€
“One of the saddest consequences of the recession has been the foreclosure crisis, which continues to affect the entire Orange County community,†said Rep. Sanchez. “The California Housing Financing Agency needs to hear how badly we’re hurting before it decides how to distribute millions in federal funding. I hope this letter will get Orange County families their fair share.â€
