The Devil in the Details of the CUSD Strike

I’ve been writing about Capistrano Unified School District and the struggles with our current Board of Trustees. The teachers went on strike Thursday even as talks began regarding the contract imposed by the CUSD Board of Trustees.

The details are important because they seem to be getting lost in translation between the media, the administration, the union and the parents. The issue is that Teachers are willing to take pay cuts, they just don’t want them to be permanent. There are other issues as well, which I’ve written about but the real issue is the board, who funded their race and the ultimate goal of a number of organizations to privatize our public education system.

OC Weekly Busts Pulido- What Happens Now?

First Bob Dornan, then Mike Carona, now it seems R. Scott Moxley has done it again by exposing Santa Ana Mayor-For-Life Miguel Pulido and his connections to the vending truck industry in Santa Ana. Apparently the Mayor forgot to disclose lot’s of details about his connection to Abel Foods, which is the main provider to vending trucks in Santa Ana.

John Campbell’s War on Christmas and Speaking to Power

Seems a group of UCI students called to schedule and got an appointment at Campbell’s District office in Newport Beach to express their opinions regarding specific legislation before the Congress. Unfortunately, they were met by Irvine Company security guards who prevented them from gaining access to the Congressman’s office suite which is located in an office building owned by the Irvine Company.
