In this week’s address, President Obama laid out a policy agenda that would strengthen our economy and create jobs right here in America by offering tax incentives to businesses that hire new employees, making the research and experimentation tax credit permanent and providing a tax cut for clean energy manufacturing. The President also wants to close tax loopholes worth billions of dollars that encourage companies to invest in overseas, while Republicans in the House have voted 11 times in just the last four years to keep those loopholes open.
Nearly 1,000 people showed up to see Bill Clinton and Loretta Sanchez this afternoon at the Old Courthouse in downtown Santa Ana. Yes, it was important that right-thinking people be there in large numbers. Yes, it was important that self-respecting Democrats be there in large numbers. No question.

Over the past several days it seems that every elected democrat is claiming that they, along with Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47), are inviting people to attend a rally in Santa Ana. In some cases, they are making it look like they are hosting, or co-hosting, the event. The Democratic Party of Orange County (DPOC) sent out an email blast, announcing the rally, but they had the intellectual honesty not to claim it was their event.

A Coalition for Accountable Government Ethics (CAGE) filed suit against the City of Santa Ana, charging that the City acted in violation of law by amending the voter-approved initiative/ordinance without submitting the question to a vote of the public. Simply put, CAGE is claiming that the City Council did not have the authority to amend the One Broadway Plaza Development Agreement, because the agreement was part of the voter approved initiative, Measure A.
Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and Assemblyman Van Tran faced off tonight in two half-hour debates taped at the KOCE studios in Huntington Beach. The first of the debates aired on KOCE and the OC Channel Wednesday night and the second will air tomorrow in the Real Orange time slot and will be rebroadcast several times on the local Orange County public broadcating station. The Sanchez campaign sent out the following statement after the first debate was aired.
