Introducing Jordan Kirby, a candidate for State Assembly in Distrcit 72:
My name is Jordan Kirby and I am running for California State Assembly District 72. I was born in Anaheim and raised in Riverside County, California. I spent twelve years in the US Coast Guard. Eight of those years were in Alaska doing helicopter search and rescue. I joined the Coast Guard because I wanted to serve my country, to help as many people as I could, and I am bringing that same desire to serve to Sacramento!
I’m running as a Democrat, but that wasn’t always the case. While I was active duty I felt it was my duty to be unaffiliated with any political party. However, that changed after seeing federal troops illegally deployed in Los Angeles (in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act). The federal government has been weaponized against California, but I will NOT let our rights be trampled!
I never wanted to be a politician, but I feel it is my duty to stand up for what I believe in and for those who cannot stand on their own. My campaign is grassroots, meaning it is powered by volunteers and by the support of regular people. I don’t accept money from PACs or lobbyists, and my beliefs are not for sale.
I believe in what California CAN be and I want us to live up to that dream. I am fighting for all Californians (democrats, republicans, libertarians, independents, etc!) who believe in our constitution, in our founding principles, and in working together to create a more just and equitable world. My campaign means protecting our environment, making housing affordable, and ensuring California remains a place where families can thrive. California should be governed by ordinary citizens, not career politicians or corporate donors. It’s time to return power to the people!
