Cisneros Raises More Than $470,000 in Q2; Receives More Than 130,000 Grassroots Contributions

Fullerton, Calif. – Today the Gil Cisneros campaign announced that it has raised $479,488.11 in contributions for the second quarter, bringing the campaign’s total cash on hand to $715,254.59. The Cisneros campaign received 136,780 individual contributions, with an average contribution amount of $3.51.

“Gil Cisneros’s message is resonating with 39th District families and he has proven he can mobilize a strong grassroots base,” said Nic Jordan, Deputy Campaign Manager and Communications Director for the Cisneros campaign. “More than 130,000 people stepped up to support Gil, and while other candidates may have the support of big business and corporate PACs, Gil has continued to reject special interest support and focus his campaign on the hard-working families and people in the 39th. Voters trust Gil to work for them and not special interests, and that’s why so many stepped up to support him.”

With more than 96.1% of donors giving at the grassroots level of $10 or less, Cisneros has proven he can energize a strong grassroots base. Cisneros has also continued his pledge to not accept any PAC or corporate special interest money during his campaign, including Labor PAC and Leadership PAC support.

Gil Cisneros is a former U.S. Naval Officer and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (2), the National Defense Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his exemplary service to his country. Hillary Clinton won the district by a whopping nine points, the DCCC labeled it a first-round target on its battlefield map and recently, the Cook Political Report changed the district’s status from Lean R to Toss Up.
