About Jessie Lopez
Jessie Lopez is a Santa Ana City Councilmember and the proud daughter of immigrants from El Salvador. First elected in 2020, she has focused on expanding affordable housing, addressing homelessness, improving water quality, strengthening public safety, and investing in youth programs. Jessie has championed government transparency by banning city contracts for family members of city officials and establishing a lobbyist registry at City Hall.
Her leadership has been recognized across Orange County. Jessie was named one of Orange County’s Most Powerful Leaders in 2023, received the Women of Distinction Award from Senate District 34, and earned the Community Health Champion Award in 2021 for her work supporting community well-being and healthcare workers.
Now, Jessie is running for State Assembly to be a voice for working families across California. She knows firsthand the struggles of affording rent, earning a fair wage, and accessing essential services. In the State Assembly, Jessie will continue fighting to address our homelessness crisis, make housing affordable, improve wages for workers, increase investments in clean air and water, and make a quality education affordable and accessible for all.
