Lisa Ramirez Earns Majority of Endorsement Vote at the California Democratic Party Convention

Ramirez earned more votes than the other two candidates combined

SANTA ANA, CA — Over the weekend, Lisa Ramirez earned over 52% of the vote at the California Democratic Party convention, nineteen votes total. Lisa overperformed last cycle’s nominee Joe Kerr, who earned 8 votes, and Esther Kim Varet who earned 7 votes, after spending more than $1.2 million on her campaign to date.

“I am thrilled to have the majority of support coming out of the Democratic Party Convention,” said Lisa Ramirez, “These are the folks who have been doing the work to flip this seat and they know what it takes to win in Orange and Riverside Counties. They know that CA-40 is not for sale. I will make them proud and continue to build the coalition and momentum it will take to win in November so we can reclaim the promise of America.”

Just last week, Lisa announced the endorsement of Assemblymember Quirk-Silva, who joined a growing list of endorsers, including Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, Congresswoman Luz Rivas, Congressman Lou Correa, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and more than a dozen local elected leaders from across the district.

Lisa Ramirez is Orange County’s leading immigration attorney, recently defeating I.C.E. in court to secure the dismissal of deportation proceedings against Narciso Barranco, a father of 3-US Marines who was violently detained while at work in June of 2025. Lisa has the endorsement of BOLD PAC, the campaign arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and US Representatives Lou Correa, Linda Sanchez, and Luz Rivas. She won 65% of the vote at the California Democratic Party’s pre-endorsement conference in January. Lisa remains the leading Democrat heading into the Primary Election.

Editor’s note: There is no endorsement by the Democratic Party for CA40
