Andrew Do quits; Feds charge him with Corruption

While not unexpected, a bit of a surprise this morning as OC Supervisor Andrew Do has resigned in lieu of his federal corruption charges associated with conspiracy to commit bribery.  Do will plead guilty.

The Voice of OC has the skinny here.

Of the the $9.3 million that Do directed to Viet America Society, nearly $1.4 million was actually sent to the organization.  The Feds say only 15% was used for that purpose. The remaining nearly $8 million was “stolen and used for bribes,” according to federal prosecutors who said Do and his family directly received $700,000 in COVID bailout funds.

Do faces a maximum of 5 years infederal prison.  His wife and daughter have not been charged but the investigation is ongoing.

  1. Hopefully Brian Probolksy gets pulled into this corruption case. He was still working with Do and his son worked in the office.

      • Yes they are very close friends/allies and Do’s other daughter works at MNWD where Brian serves as Board VP and basically runs the water district. Joone is just a figurehead.
