Santa Ana, CA— Following an outpouring of support from elected officials and prominent organizations including Congresswoman Roybal-Allard, the California Young Democrats Latino Caucus, and the California Association of Highway Patrolmen, today, former State Senator Lou Correa secured the critical endorsement of the O.C. Register in the race to represent California’s 46th Congressional District.
In a recently published article announcing their support for Correa, the O.C. Register’s Editorial Board wrote: “We recommend Correa for possessing the necessary experience that will allow him to hit the ground running. Correa, a former State Assemblyman, is a business-friendly Democrat who offers more moderate views on many of the big issues. That is something that will serve him well in Congress, where working across the aisle is a greater requirement than in the Democrat-dominated statehouse. He told us that the issues he is running on are the same as when he first ran for office: jobs and preserving quality education and the opportunities it provides. Correa also has the endorsement of the outgoing Sanchez, who received our endorsement for Senate. The Editorial Board recommends Lou Correa for the 46th Congressional District.”
Upon receiving news of the endorsement, former State Senator Lou Correa released the following statement: “It is an absolute honor to have the backing of the O.C. Register in my race for Congress. Their support, as well as the support of elected leaders, organizations, and grassroots activists, is absolutely invaluable to me. I have spent my entire career fighting for the hardworking families of Orange County, and I will continue to do so in Washington D.C. I look forward to reaching across the aisle and collaborating with my fellow legislators to develop policies that will foster small business growth, generate quality, good-paying jobs, and create a bright future for our children through quality, affordable education.”
