In this election, we face a choice between two fundamentally different visions of how to grow the economy. The path Mitt Romney and his Republican allies want to take us down is exactly the one that led us to the 2008 crisis. We have to reject those policies and embrace the President’s vision of growing the economy, not from the top down, but from the middle class out.

No Shake-ups in Final OC Ballot Tallies

While the final counts narrowed there were no changes in results once the Orange County Registrar of Voters completed it’s counting of primary election ballots on Thursday. The late charges towards second place by Julio Perez in the 69th Assembly District and Joe Dovinh in the 72nd Assembly District were not quite strong enough to overcome the election night results.

Republican Hypocrisy At Its Best

Yesterday, the Sacramento Bee’s Capitol Alert blog pointed out what has to be one of the better displays of Republican hypocrisy in recent months. Commissioner Michael Ward (R-Orange County) received the most compensation for time served, $68,400 in per diem.

Battle for 2nd Place Not Looking Good for Perez and Dovinh

For those of us hoping for a successful come-from-behind victory (for 2nd place) in the 69th and 72nd Assembly district contests, Tuesday brought only disappointment. From where I sit, it looks like success will be a bit too high of a hurdle to clear.
