Governor Brown Taps Sanchez District Director for Lottery Post

SACRAMENTO — Yesterday Governor Jerry Brown announced the appointment of Paula Negrete, district director for Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, as deputy director of external affairs at the California State Lottery.

Paula Negrete, 33, of Santa Ana, has been district director for U.S. Representative Loretta Sanchez since 2009 and was deputy communications director and communications director from 2003 to 2008. She served as special assistant in the Office of Governor Gray Davis from 2002 to 2003. Negrete was vice president of program and strategic partnerships at the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce in 2002. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $92,004. Negrete is a Democrat.
