Rep. Loretta Sanchez Honors 9th Anniversary of 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47), Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, today issued the following statement in advance of tomorrow’s anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

“Tomorrow, Americans across the country will honor the thousands of men, women, and children who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We send our thoughts and prayers to all the families who lost loved ones in the attacks on New York and Washington, and in Shanksville.

“We also honor the heroic service of those first responders, law enforcement personnel, volunteers, and others who bravely risked their own lives to help the victims. Their selfless actions remind us that courage, kindness, and self-sacrifice will persist even in the face of unspeakable evil and destruction. These are the principles we should honor when we reflect on September 11.

“In the wake of that terrible tragedy, our country stood stronger and more united than ever before. Let us always remember that sense of common purpose, and the importance of standing together as one American family.”

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is proud to represent California’s 47th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and parts of Fullerton in Orange County. She serves as Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security Committee and Chair of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats, and Capabilities. Rep. Sanchez is also a member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition and sits on the bipartisan, bicameral Joint Economic Committee.
