Eli Home needs your Christmas Wishes

December 4, 2009 2

We received this from Lorri Galloway, Anaheim city council member and candidate for 4th district BoS seat, regarding helping kids at Eli Home. Go the the Eli Home website for details on how to make a contribution.

Each year The Eli Home hosts a Christmas party for children and their mothers who are part of Eli’s programs. We ask them to each fill out a list with their wishes for Christmas. This year we have over 300 wish lists waiting to be filled. This year has been exceptionally difficult because of the economy. Please consider adopting a wish list or as many as you or your company or organization can handle. Each wish list has 3 wishes. You can fulfill as many of the wishes as you can. The party will be held on Sunday, December 20th from noon to 3pm and the deadline for returning the gifts is December 13th. Thanks in advance for your kind consideration.

A Personal Response to a Personal Attack

December 3, 2009 12

Sean Mill and I are friends. I know that sentence makes some of my co-bloggers here uneasy at best and angry at worst. I’ve never had a problem with Sean and I don’t think he’s had one with me. And even after we get through this post, I expect we’ll still be on speaking terms. And if we’re not, c’est la vie. But his post on the OJBlog yesterday warrants a response. The post is a “criticism” on Claudio W. Gallegos’ post about Ceci Iglesias’ campaign for Congress in CD-47 where it appears she’s being placed to draw votes from Rep. Loretta Sanchez.

Solorio Asks The Governor To Stop Sale of Fairgrounds

December 2, 2009 0

“I strongly request that you stop the current process to sell the Orange County Fairgrounds. Under the current circumstances, it is not in the best interest of California or Orange County to sell this valuable property. This sale has been tainted by misinformation, misrepresentations, conflicts of interests, questionable legal and ethical activities, and a potential constitutional barrier regarding the sale of the property,”

Leading Conservative Blog Parts with the Extreme Right Wing

December 2, 2009 4

My favorite definition of a conservative is “a liberal who hasn’t figured out how to think for themselves.” And while I’m not fan of the blog Little Green Footballs, but the blog’s main writer, Charles Johnson, has had a change of heart. Mind you, he’s not liberal, but is willing to engage in debates on policy. As a nation, we need to move beyond the politics of personal destruction and hate to a battle of ideas.
