NOTHING LIKE LAST YEAR.
ÂÂ
Last year there were hundreds, if not thousands of demonstrators protesting in the Santa Ana Civic Center area. Not this year.
I estimate about 60 pro-immigrant protesters and about 20 counter demonstrators. The law enforcement presence was almost as great.
I think it s Lupe Moreno in one of the pictures I took n my break (I work next to the Civic Center).
I saw some demonstrators on my lunch hour. Either this group was not tired after the rally and march to Bristol or they broke away.
Note to Art – they were marching on the sidewalks in an orderly fashion and not rioting.
Let’s not forget to celebrate the four year anniversary of Mission Accomplished, when we celebrate the end of major hostilities in Iraq, and ponder what our next mission should be in that country. (Maybe someone else has done a better job of keeping track, but I’m not sure what our mission is supposed to be now, except that the President is going to veto an emergency war spending bill that protects our troops and establishes a scheculed to bring them home.)
It’s also Law Day, where we commemorate the rule of law, especially international law.
That lady should be holding a “STOP BAD DYE JOBS” sign…
