An open supervisor’s seat

Lou Correa giving up his seat on the Board of Supervisors to join the State Senate has excited quite a few Republican politicians, but nobody is being straightforward with their intentions yet.

Since I’m not a Republican, I don’t have to dance around and pretend that Lynn Daucher has a chance in November, so I’m going to talk openly about the 3 Republicans and 1 Democrat that I know are salivating for the chance to win this seat.

  • Janet Nguyen – Republican Garden Grove City Councilwoman
  • Carlos “Bubba Gump” Bustamante – Republican Santa Ana City Councilman
  • Tim Whitacre – GOP leader and Santa Ana activist
  • Tom Umberg – Democrat State Assemblymember

I’ve been told that Whitacre is really only interested in the seat because he’d hate to see Bubba Bustamante get the seat without a fight.

And I think that Janet Nguyen has a good chance if she stuck with it.

But I’d really hate to see this seat go back to the Reps after all the hard work and moooooola that the Democratic Party put into it to get Lou elected. Are there any Democrats that I’m missing?

(P.S. I couldn’t find a picture of Whitacre, so I just uploaded a picture of some guy refusing to get his picture taken.)

    1. Sorry Mike. But the DPOC didn’t lift a finger in raising money for Lou to win that seat. Remember that it was two Democrats that run in the general. The party simply doesn’t like Lou. They didn’t help him then and they aren’t helping him now.

That and Joe Dunn will run and win the Supervisor’s seat…
