Who would you rather…

Who would you rather have on the Board of Supervisors representing the 1st District? There are only 7 votes between Trung and Janet right now, and it looks like there will be a recount next week. In an attempt to give local lefties someone to root for, here’s the LiberalOC.com’s scorecard on both candidates:

  1. Mike,

On Janet’s score card, you forgot to mention:
    – Latino bashing was on Janet’s, her own news release
Look closely at her Vietnamese news release, which she refused to translate it into English

    – Taking picture with religious leaders and wrote her own articles saying that she got the endorsement from them.
Look at this Vietnamese daily news’ cartoon

    – Ask her about the Westminster City’s $7000 debt that that she had put on the Vietnamese Community, since 2004.

… oh, but wait a minute!

To whom am I kidding here, it’s Mike Lawson. I am just wasting my time explaining to Janet’s a-kissing droid.

  2. Utsay,

I did mention the Latino bashing….that’s the “Republicans who hate Mexicans” remark that I mentioned.

And how can you say that I’m a Janet ass-kissing droid?!? This is the first semi-positive thing I’ve said about her on this page.

  3. Mike,

Sorry for missing the “Latinos bashing” in your Janet’s score card. But it’s the total positive score, which gave you away. 🙂

Again, I would not expect you to understant what has been going on within the Vietnamese community regarding this special election. GOP backing, immigration, issues … they are just for English speaking communities and media, just for show. The focus of this special election from day one is the Vietnamese community. With all of Janet’s falsely claims and lies, money she had been poured out to buy the Vietnamese media; the Vietnamese community can not afford to have Janet Nguyen to win.

  4. Mike-

Trung won because he took at least 60% of the Vietnamese vote. Janet only made it close because she did better than expected among white Republicans. You guys in this blog need to decide your stance on this. Some of you are congratulating the Vietnamese community for this show of support. They have made it clear who they support: Trung.

We’ll see if Janet has the cojones to follow through with a recount and be exposed for trying to throw out Vietnamese votes. That is, after all, the only way she can change the outcome.

    Do you support that?

  5. SGL,

Just out of curiosity, I hope that a win by either Trung or Janet does not mean that the only people to be represented by our new 1st District Supervisor are Vietnamese. From your position of influence, can you tell us what Mr. Nguyen will do to try to heal the anti-latino sentiment that he and Janet promoted in this election?

  6. Trung promoted no such sentiment. It was sensationalists in blogs that created that illusion. Granted, Janet’s botched press release was racist and inflammatory, but I do not see the need to tie the Nguyens together. Remember, it was not Trung that said “there is a right way, and a wrong way”. It wasn’t Trung who said he’s going after the vote of “Republicans who don’t like Mexicans”.

Trung stands by his message of fiscal conservatism. Any further discussion about illegal immigration will be centered around that ideal.
And yes, Trung will represent EVERY community in this district to the best of his ability.

  7. SGL,

Trung pictured in his own mailings and on his website standing on the Mexican Boarder saying that as Supervisor he will fight illegal immigration. A job that has nothing to do with the Board of Supervisors.

If that is not racist and race baiting, then PLEASE, explain what it is.

  8. SGL,

    Again please answer the question.

From your position of influence, can you tell us what Mr. Nguyen will do to try to heal the anti-latino sentiment promoted in this election?

  9. make sure that those individuals accusing Trung Nguyen of being anti-latino are not confusing anti-latino with anti-illegal immigration. BIG DIFFERENCE.
